CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION September 13, 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, D. Duffy, M. Hoey, M. Boudman, J. Whitehead ABSENT: A. Doyle STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting on August 9, 2017 were reviewed. D. Duffy made a motion to approve the Minutes. M. Hoey seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. IV. CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: None V. PLANNING BOARD UPDATE: Nothing pertinent to the Heritage Commission. VI. OLD BUSINESS A. Area Studies/Photography: C. Tokarz said she will take the pictures in November with the help of M. Boudman B. St. Joseph’s Church: C. Tokarz said there was nothing new. C. Property Restoration Recognization: D. Duffy made up a draft certificate. C. Tokarz requested that each Heritage Commission member bring in a property at the next meeting, and there will be a discussion and vote and hopefully come up with 2 properties to be recognized. D. Irving Building: It was noted that there was fencing around the Irving property on Messer Street. So far no DEMO application has been received. E. Busy Corner: C. Tokarz said that there were plantings in the park now. VII. NEW BUSINESS: A. 225 Franklin Street: A DEMO application was received for 225 Franklin Street. After discussion, M. Hoey made a motion to approve the Demo application, which was seconded by J. Whitehead. D. Duffy abstained. The DEMO application was approved by C. Tokarz. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None IX. ADJOURNMENT: M. Boudman made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by D. Duffy, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
