CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION NOVEMBER 8, 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, M. Hoey, M. Boudman, J. Whitehead. ABSENT: A. Doyle, D. Duffy STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting of October 11, 2017 were reviewed. M. Hoey made a motion to approve the Minutes. M. Boudman seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. IV: CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: None V. OLD BUSINESS A. Planning Board Report: C. Tokarz announced the assignments for attending the Planning Board meetings in 2018: JANUARY (C. Tokarz), FEBRUARY (M. Hoey), MARCH (J. Whitehead), APRIL (M. Boudman), MAY (D. Duffy), JUNE (C. Tokarz), JULY (M. Hoey), AUGUST (J. Whitehead), SEPTEMBER (M. Boudman), OCTOBER (D. Duffy). B. Area Studies/Photography: C. Tokarz and M. Boudman plan to take pictures on Saturday, November 25, 2017. C. Property Restoration Recognition: C. Tokarz asked all members to bring in a nomination next month. D. St. Joseph’s Church: Nothing new. E. Irving Buildings: C. Tokarz said demolition of the building at 308 Messer Street was continuing. F. C. Tokarz reminded all members to get their ID cards at the Police Department. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. Historic Structure Directory: C. Tokarz said that this directory is on her list to do this week and also get it published in the Laconia Daily Sun and Laconia Links and copies available in the Library. People will be able to fill out the form about their property. B. Commission Changes: C. Tokarz announced that she is going to change places with J. Whitehead, who will become a full member and C. Tokarz will be an alternate. They will both be co-chairs. C. Tokarz said she spoke with S. Myers who will put it before the City Council. C. J. Whitehead said she attended a good lecture on November 7, 2017 in Moultonboro, NH. Christina Ashjian (Moultonboro Heritage Commission) talked about old farms after the Civil War that were abandoned. VII. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None IX. ADJOURNMENT: M. Hoey made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by J. Whitehead, and the meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
