CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION JANUARY 8, 2020 MINUTES I. Call to Order: Jane Whitehead called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. Present: J. Whitehead (Chair), D. Duffy, L. Kessin, C. Tokarz, M. Sweet, M. Haynes Staff: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. Minutes: The Minutes of the meeting on December 11, 2019, were reviewed. M. Sweet made a motion to approve the Minutes. L. Kessin seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. IV. City Council Liaison Report: Mark Haynes said there was nothing that pertained to the Heritage Commission. V. Planning Board Update: Dorothy Duffy and Michael Sweet said there was nothing new. VI. Lakeshore Redevelopment Commission report: Mark Haynes said it was an interesting meeting. Since the State already has a contract with the contractor, RFP, they can start looking at some of the buildings. M. Haynes also said there will be a meeting of the Agricultural Committee on January 15, 2020. VII. Old Business: Heritage Commission Preservation Awards, nominees: The following are being considered for an award: 100 Valley Street, 25 Willow Street, 43 McGrath Street and 24 Simpson Avenue. J. Whitehead asked for volunteers to contact owners and set up an interview, and tell them we are considering giving them an award. Following are names of Commissioners and the property they will be contacting: D. Duffy - 100 Valley Street M. Sweet - 25 Willow Street C. Tokarz - 24 Simpson Avenue J. Whitehead - 43 McGrath Street VIII. New Business: None IX. Public Comments: None X. Adjournment: C. Tokarz made a motion to adjourn. M. Sweet seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
