A quorum was established at 3:05pm.
Old Business
The group resumed discussions of how to respond to the social media postings by Laconia
School Board member and NH Representative Dawn Johnson.
It was agreed by a unanimous vote support the following statement:
LHRC Calls for Johnson Resignation
On December 17th, 2020 at a noticed public meeting via Zoom, the Laconia Human Relations
Committee voted to support the following statement:
The Laconia Human Relations Committee’s Mission is in part to “Cultivate a community-wide
climate that does not tolerate prejudice of any kind which undermines the dignity of any
person” and “To proactively resist and publicly condemn any practices or incidents in our
community which either result from or might encourage prejudice, intolerance, harassment
and discrimination.”
The postings of Dawn Johnson, a public representative, have encouraged prejudice, intolerance,
harassment, and discrimination which have caused hurt and harm in our community. Therefore,
we ask that she resign from the Laconia School Board and her position as a State House
Representative.

Mayor Hosmer noted that there will be a public meeting hosted by the Mayor and Daily Sun
next Wednesday December 23rd at 5:30
The next regular meeting of the Committee will be Jan. 12th at 3pm.

To continue discussions the alleged social media postings by a Laconia elected official and to
decide what if any action to take.
Public Comment
The public is invited to offer their opinions. Initially, they will be limited to four minutes until all
have had an opportunity to speak. Each person is constrained to their time period or to ask
questions of the committee.
The public will be visible but muted until unmuted by the chair. Members of the public wishing
to speak will use the “raise hand” option.
Everyone is expected to speak respectfully of other people’s opinion.
The Chair may mute someone if they begin getting off topic or speaking disrespectfully at their
discretion.
