Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee Notes 172 Pleasant St, Laconia, NH February 20, 2025 at 4:45 pm Present : Trish Weatherbee, Matt Soza, and Faith Pakasuk Unable to attend : Richard Littlefield Discussion : 1. Decided to have next year’s event in a smaller location. Brain-stormed ideas. 2. Brainstormed new themes for this community event, including an entire program honoring African American music with instrumental and dance performances, including possibly children. 3. Still discussing the length of the event from one and an half- hour to two hours. 4. Possibly another event that is more interactive with the audience also discussed for another time, near MLK Day. 5. Possibly include Native American music, dance from the Abenaki. 6. Discussed finding new members for our committee. Faith will ask a man she knows if he is interested. 7. Possibly asking the Laconia Ministerial Association ministers to ask their congregations for refreshments for this event. After an hour of fruitful discussion, the meeting ended.
