finances.
4. Old Business
a. AIP Projects Update – Mr. Gorham provided an update on the Airport
Improvement Projects currently underway:
i. SBG 15 – Obstruction removal – The contractor chose to delay the
survey of the boundary lines until the trees are free of foliage. The
work is still on schedule for Fall/Winter.
ii. Perimeter Fence preliminary planning – The grant application has
been submitted for Phase 1 – Design, permitting, and bidding.
Wildlife surveillance by the USDA Wildlife Services has yielded
photos of the presence of wildlife. We are waiting for grant
approval.
b. Update s:
i. Culvert repair/replacement at Emerson Aviation : The work was
completed at a cost of $70,772.25 which was $4,223.75 less than
what was approved by vote in the May 19, 2022, meeting.
ii. Patchwork on runway : There were three significant potholes on
the runway that were successfully repaired using a product called
Elephant Armor, a concrete product that is stronger than normal
concrete.
iii. Wing, Water, Wheels : The event on May 21st was very successful
and well attended. The weather was great and aircraft owner
participation was wonderful.
iv. Site Plan – Dubois & King was not able to present a completed site
plan for the Crosswinds Development for this meeting. Following a
discussion, it was decided that we should encourage the engineer
to have the site plan ready for presenting to the LAA before July 31,
2022, so it can get on the agenda for the town’s planning board
meeting in August.
v. Boiler replacement – The boiler installation is almost complete! It
will be fine-tuned in four days, after which it will be operational.
vi. Generator – According to the schedule submitted by the contractor,
it is due to be installed in November barring supply issues.
5. New Business
a. Bank of NH, who we do business with, has proposed that we combine our
investment funds into a Municipal Investment Pool Savings Account (MIP)
with BNH where a 1.5% APY is currently being offered. This would entail
removing our funds from FSB and NHPDIP and placing them in the MIP.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Mr. Larrere, seconded by Mr. Eddy, the
proposal to combine the investment funds of the Laconia Airport Authority into a
Municipal Investment Pool Savings Account with BNH was approved by
unanimous vote.
6. Other Business – There was none.
