VieBrooks completing the term of Mr. Crumb – duration to 4/26; Mr. Dodge

MOTION: Upon a motion by Mr. Tierno, seconded by Mr. Eddy, the minutes of
the February 16, 2023, meeting were unanimously approved as submitted by the
recording secretary.
3. Public Input – There was none.
4. Review of Finances – The manager led a general discussion regarding a
review of the finances.
5. AIP Projects Update
a.SBG-15 Obstruction Removal – The obstruction removal project began Page | 2
on January 30, with 60% of the work accomplished as of Friday, the 10th.
However, due to the soft ground surface, a decision was made to stop
the project. We still hope the remaining 40% can be completed in the
summer if the ground dries enough. No tree clearing can be done from
June 1 to July 31 to protect the Northern Long-eared bat.
b.SBG-20 Perimeter Fence – The survey is completed, and the wetlands
have been flagged; now, the permitting is underway with the DES, which
is particularly sensitive due to most of the area being wetlands.
c. CROSSWINDS Development – The project’s overall design is 85%
complete – should be 100% by the end of April; hoping to go out to bid in
May.
6. Old Business
a. 15 Airport Road – A Purchase and Sales Agreement for the building
formerly known as Kitchen Cravings has been signed. After some
remodeling, the new owner intends to re-open as a restaurant.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Mr. Eddy, with second by Mr. Tierno,
authorization was granted for the Chair, on behalf of the Laconia Airport
Authority, to sign a new Lease Agreement with POPPY’S CHOICE, LLC by a
unanimous vote.
b. Emergency Generator – A recent update indicates that our generator is
en-route and should arrive “soon.”
7. New Business
a. “Laconia Airport ” sign - The sign blew over in the strong wind of
Christmas Eve but did not get damaged. Several friends of the airport
have suggested that we install it in the middle of the circle where the
trees were located. Unfortunately, the trees died due to disease, so we
recently removed them. The manager is seeking approval to investigate
the cost of relocating the sign and landscaping that area.
By consensus, approval was granted.
8. Other Business – There was none.
9. Next Scheduled Meeting: May 18, 2023
10. Adjournment – The Chair adjourned the meeting at 14:48.
