ROLL CALL:  PRESENT : Laconia Mayor Andrew Hosmer; Town of Gilford Selectman Dale Chan Eddy; Belknap County Commissioner Peter Spanos; Mr. Eric Tierno; Mr. Steve Cotter; Mr. Carl Dodge ABSENT: Mr. Jason Larrere GUESTS: Steve LaBonte, John Gorham, Dave Emerson, Dennis DiDonna, Lee Avery AGENDA: 1. Action on Approval of 4/18/2024 Meeting minutes. MOTION: Upon a motion by Mr. Eddy, seconded by Mr. Tierno, the minutes of the April 18, 2024, meeting were unanimously approved as submitted by the recording secretary. 2. Public Input: Mr. DiDonna wondered if the LAA would consider entering a float in the Gilford Old Home Day parade. He also inquired about the consideration of providing for a sub-station for the GFD on the airport. 3. Review of Finances : A general discussion occurred regarding the finances. 4. AIP Projects Update a. SBG-15 Obstruction Removal Project – the final drone verification flight is being arranged. b. SBG-20 Perimeter Fence Project – This project is on hold. c. CROSSWINDS Development Project – The pre-construction meeting was held on Tuesday, May 14, and work began Wednesday, May 15, with installation of the fence in a new location. 5. Old Business  2 a. Water testing for PFAS – Eastern Analytical, Inc. of Concord tested for 4 compounds within the PFAS – all registered as “non-detection” within the reporting limit. b. 15 Airport Road – The owner engaged a contractor to mow the lawn and make some improvements to the grounds; the driveway entrance is roped off with a “No Trespass” sign. She is still actively trying to sell the building and business. 6. New Business a. Gilford Old Home Day contribution . i. The Town of Gilford Parks & Recreation Department is soliciting funds to offset the cost of staging the 104 th ANNUAL GILFORD OLD HOME DAY 2024 by offering advertising orders in the program booklet. MOTION: Upon a motion by Mr. Spanos, seconded by Mr. Tierno, a sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) was approved to purchase a full page advertisement in the Gilford Old Home Day Program Booklet by a vote of 5 to 0, with abstention by Mr. Eddy. 7. Other Business a. Wings, Water, Wheels - Touch-a-plane/touch-a-truck/touch-a-boat event takes place on Saturday, May 18. The event includes EAA Young Eagles flights. b. Ad for Appointive Agency – An ad will run in the Daily Sun Saturday, May 18, to Saturday, May 25, for two Laconia residents to serve on the Laconia Airport Authority. 8. Next Scheduled Meeting: June 20, 2024 9. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman adjourned the meeting at 4:31 pm.
