Laconia Putnam Fund
Board of Trustees Meeting
August 4, 2018
This meeting was called to order on August 4, 2018 at the Woodside Commons located at the Taylor
Community at 12:00 pm with the following in attendance: Linda Peary, Charles Bradley, Rich Landry,
Jim Rogato and Betty Ballantyne.
PROPOSED PROGRAMS:
Ted Vigil: John Denver Tribute, will come with a four-member band for $7,685 for Friday, October 18,
2019. Charles made a first motion Rich seconded it will all in favor, therefore unanimously approved
subject to LHS Auditorium space and date being available. (Note: On August 14, 2018 we just received
confirmation LHS is available and secured for this upcoming program.)
Jay & The Americans: Submitted by Julie Grant, Agent. $21,950 for the show. In knowing we have no
real history for this show and for the amount needed we are not yet prepared to approve this program.
Temptations Revue: Submitted by Julie Grant, Agent. $16,150 plus 5 rooms for two nights and 5 rooms
for one night. We had discussed the fee and expense and were concerned for the dollar amount for a -
non-Temptations member in the group. We would reconsider at a reduced fee in the amount of
$10,000. We shall wait to hear back from our counter-offer and would take it for a vote.
Odds Bodkins Master Storyteller and Musician: Odds presented programs for our local Elementary
Schools and Middle School in Laconia named Golden Rule and Odyssey. Its program are world stories
about Empathy and noted as the best anti-bulling program. He will reach out to each of the grade
schools, Holy Trinity to and the Middle School to arrange approval and time slots for the shows. Odds
presented the shows at $6,750 which included two programs at three school and one show at Holy
Trinity and one show at the Middle School. The Middle School program will be The Odyssey: Belly of
the Beast a one-hour performance age appropriate. Betty made the first motion and Rich seconded it
will all in favor, therefore unanimously approved to include a counter offer of $6,300. We felt it fair in
knowing Odd was performing two shows at three schools and thought it appropriate for expect a
reduction in cost. Note: On August 7th, Odds accepted our offer at $6,300.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Laconia 125th Birthday: We discussed the success of the event. President Jim arranged a flat bed truck
and had the Rockin Daddios perform along with most Board Members riding the flat bed in the Parade
and was a huge success. All three live performances we at Opechee Park were also a huge success.
Crowds of the thousands attended the Event. The Team has good signage to promote and make aware
of the Putnam’s presence in the community. Nice job people!
Business Cards: We discussed again printing business card size to promote the 2018/2019 upcoming
shows. Betty will reach out to Winnisquam Printing and have ready prior our first show this Fall.
With no further discussion to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 1:00 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Betty Ballantyne
