FINANCIALS:
Our yearly allotment is $60,000. Our fiscal year begins with each July 1st. We do have a
carryover of $93,000, therefore a grand total of $153,000. As of today, November 5th we have
spent $53,000.
We are working together with Jacob, Manager of the Colonial Theater. We intend to participate
in securing curtains for the Canal Street windows for the Colonial. They are working with
Decorative Interiors. Their first bid was $17,000. Adjustments are being made and we are now
waiting for new suggestions and a bid for the Green Door Drapery.
Jim suggested after our last show with Hart Keene, the value of having stairs built for the stage
at the Colonial. Hart had audience participation and without stair made it quite challenging for
the artist and the audience. He suggested working the LHS Vocational School. The stairs could
be built; though storage would be an issue.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Father Adrien’s Proclamation is to be submitted to the City Council this coming Monday. Betty
will be attending to represent the Board.
Cosmic Coincidences – Author, Joe Laurendeau a local resident had written his revelations of
the Putnam Program in this book. Charles stated with Joe’s comments in Cosmic Coincidence is
the purpose of his volunteerism!
Spectacle – It was noted that Spectacle had the ability to take donations at the point of sale for
tickets sold on line. It is not a request for donations. An extended discussion occurred
concerning adding a request for donations to tickets issued by Spectacle. Member Bradley
opined that a vote of the Putnam members was required before this occurred. He also
recommended that a legal opinion be obtained concerning this matter.
With no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:40 am.
Respectfully submitted,
Betty Ballantyne
