Laconia Putnam Fund Board of Trustees Meeting January 27, 2022 This meeting called to order on Thursday, January 27, 2022, held at 45 Beacon Street East, Laconia City Hall, Laconia, NH with the following in attendance: Jim Rogato, Charles Bradley, Rich Landry, and Betty Ballantyne. Guest: Julie Grant via phone conversation. MINUTES: The minutes of November 5, 2021, submitted. Charles made a motion to accept the minutes, Rich seconded it with all in favor. NEW & OLD BUSINESS: Two Divas & and a Piano: Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Colonial $10,500 plus extras i.e., rooms, meals, and advertising. Linda Eder – Vocalist: Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Colonial $15,000 plus extras i.e., instruments, rooms, meals, and advertising. Charles made a motion for the show at $15,000, Rich seconded it with all in favor. The Temptations Show – Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Colonial Theater $13,750 plus extras i.e., rooms, meals, and advertising. Albert Cummins Blues Performer – Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Colonial Theater $7,300 plus extras i.e., rooms, meals, and advertising. The Love Dogs is a possibility jointly performed with Mr. Cummins. Julie will reach out to Mr. Cummins and the Love Dogs. It is pending further review Four premier programs for less than $50,000 for the artists. President Jim was pleased as the board at these numbers along the caliber of the shows. KINDNESS & CHAOS: Jim has reached out to them via email and phone with no response. It was our hope to have the program at CAKE Free to the community. Rather than a $30 plus ticket for each of the 250 people. We were prepared to pay them and not expect K & C to donate the show. Jim’s communication was clearly explained when reaching out to them. LEX GILLETTE – Olympic winner in track & field in 2004 and 2008. Gold Medalist in Dubai for the long jump. Motivational Speaker. “Who Needs Site when you have vision.” Judy Rogato met Lex while both serving on the Board, Future in Site formerly the NH Association for the Blind. He could be the Commencement Speaker for LHS and lecture an adult program as well. This is in the works currently. Jim, Linda, and Betty met with Jacob Crumb and Spectacle management early January. We spoke of program sharing with the other six venues they manage. Discussed were how best both parties can benefit from each other with upcoming programs. A series of classic Movies was an idea discussed. Also, they spoke of recidivism. Paid shows recidivism rate is 15% and free program rates were 25%. NEW HORIZONS – DEBBIE GIBSON & ANGELO VAN ENGLELEN: She has reached out to Betty. They intend to make a presentation to the Board at our next scheduled meeting. MICELLANEOUS: We spoke of Charles end of term with the Putnam Board this coming March. We discussed if there were any candidates yet applied for the position though the position has not yet been advertised. We noted whomever it would be they would have big shoes to fill with Charles departure. He will leave as “Mr. Putnam Jr” in knowing Bob Holbrook was “Mr. Putnam.” Thank you, Charles Bradley!
