Laconia Putnam Fund Meeting Tuesday, May 9, 2023 This meeting was called to order on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 8:45 am located at 45 Beacon Street East, Laconia City Hall, Laconia, NH with the following in attendance: Joan Mercer, Jim Rogato and Betty Ballantyne, Linda Peary and Rich Landry. Guests attending: Jill Desruisseaux, Belknap Mill Event Coordinator. MINUTES: March and April’s minutes were approved as submitted. TREASURER’S REPORT: Linda noted the Trust of Trustee approved for 2024 effective July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, an amount of $46,600. On July 1, 2023, the 2024 budget has a carryover balance of $94,762.45 while still pending the May 13th show along with outstanding hotel accommodations and advertising. PENDING BOARD MEMBER: We do not yet have a voted replacement for Rich Landry. We are aware of two applicants have applied yet still no word from the city council. SEPTEMBER 2023: Limited date availability, September dates available are 9-10 - 9-14 and 9-17 - 9-21. No shows yet. OCTOBER 2023: Jobe (Michael Jackson) was presented for a Michael Jackson tribute for October 26, 2023. The price is set at $8,250. It is a Michael and Julie production, inclusive of Jobe and six other performers. No band. A word track will replace the band. We have been reassured this will be an amazing show. NOVEMBER 2023: Currently, only weekdays are available for our Blues month. At this time, we shall wait in hopes of a weekend date being available at the Colonial Theater. We have spoken to the Love Dogs; they are willing and able to perform for us once a date has been sent, excluding the week of Thanksgiving. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Last month Rod Dyer submitted a request for the Pemi Choral to perform in May 3-5, 2024, with Putnam being their sponsor, and to be performed at the Colonial Theater. We all mutually agreed. Jim will reach out to the Colonial for date availability being the early start of May in 2024. NEW BUSINESS: Jill of the Belknap Mill did make a proposal $7,500 for Arts in The Park inclusive of nine performances to be held free of charge at Rotary Park beginning May 26th onto September 10th. This year’s request decreased $2,500 last knowing $10,000 to is $7,500! The Mill will add additional signage and banners for this summer’s agenda on behalf of the Putnam Program to be held at Rotary Park. (See Attached) NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 8:45 am to be held at City Hall. With no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 am.
