Laconia Putnam Meeting Tuesday, May 14, 2024 This meeting was called to order at 10:10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, held at Laconia City Hall, 25 Beacon Street E #1, Laconia, NH with the following in attendance: Jim Rogato, Linda Peary, Janet Brough, Joanie Mercer and via telephone, Betty Ballantyne. MINUTES: The April 9, 2024 minutes were approved by Linda Peary and seconded by Joan Mercer with all in favor. TREASURER’S REPORT: Linda Peary presented the following: Year to date we have spent $47556.88 Remaining balance $37897.93 Market Value of account is $1,652,490.75 During our meeting Randy Haas texted the confirmation that the trustees voted to give us $62,000. Their next meeting is July 22, 2:00 p.m. at Laconia City Hall. Joanie Mercer will contact Randy Haas (haasrandy@hotmail.com) letting him know that she would be attending, hoping for some updates and questions. 1. Progress on separating Putnam finances from the other groups 2. Explain why pulling from principle and not interest. 3. Hoping to get a better understanding of the trustees goals EVENT UPDATES: Past: Pemi Choral was a success on May 4th. We agreed that it was great that we could sponsor them for their 50th anniversary, but if we were ever to sponsor them again, we would consider a smaller and less expensive venue. We also learned that the confusion over no tickets and then tickets might have kept the numbers down. Rod Dyer was in attendance and he expressed how glad he was that we were a sponsor. Future: July 16th Tuesday-The New Horizon Musical at Rotary Park August 20th Tuesday-The New Horizon Musical in the Weirs September 8th Sunday-The Temptations October 17 Thursday-SixtiesMania November 15 Friday-Tim Sample Arts in the Park throughout the summer months on Friday evenings All programs have been confirmed and look ready to go. TIM SAMPLE: The financial department sent his check to his very very old address and it was finally forwarded to him just as the department was in the process of stopping payment on the check. Nancy was going to make sure that this was corrected and Tim would let Jim know if there was any other problem. NEW BUSINESS: Items to go over at our next meeting. 1. Gordon Belcher & Cynthia Macleod will be returning to the states in May of 2025. They performed at the Taylor Community in May of 2023. We will need to take a vote on this at our next meeting as to whether we would like to have them return so that they can make their necessary arrangements. 2. Janet is looking into name tags as she thinks that is something the Huot Tech might be able to do. If not, we will look online. 3. Duties of each board member can be assigned. 4. Linda will email us info on holocaust survivor and author. NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, June 11, 2024 to be held at City Hall at 9:00 a.m. With no further business to come before the board, Janet Brough made a motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Linda Peary.
