Laconia Putnam Fund Tuesday, August 13, 2024 This meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, held at Laconia City Hall, 25 Beacon Street E #1, Laconia, NH with the following in attendance: Jim Rogato, Linda Peary, Janet Brough, Joanie Mercer and via telephone, Betty Ballantyne. MINUTES: The June 11, 2024 minutes were approved by Janet Brough and seconded by Linda Peary with all in favor. TREASURER’S REPORT: Linda Peary shared that there has been no changes since our May 14 meeting but with our fall performances quickly approaching she expects invoices to be coming in soon. NAME TAGS: Janet Brough had our new name tags and everyone was very happy with them. UPCOMING SHOWS: a. Temptations - Sunday, September 8, 2024 Jim has their contract. Janet is posting the event on facebook, instagram, love Laconia, Laconia community events, and the Belknap Mall. Betty is putting it in the city newsletter and the local papers with an August 21 date to release the tickets. She will request 800 tickets with 50 to be held for the board and band. Posters are being printed and Linda has booked the hotels. b. Sixtiesmania - Thursday, October 17 - details will be discussed at the next meeting. c. Tim Sample – Friday, November 15 – details will be discussed at the next meeting. AUTHOR: Kati Preston, holocaust speaker is booked for April 25 and 27 at the Opera House. We continue to wait to hear if the Laconia Public Library would like to participate with us and the Daily Sun to bring this program to the area. NEW BUSINESS: a. Linda was given some dates for 2025 from Kathleen Tormey of Spectacle. The board agreed with the following, to put on a soft hold, and will confirm in January the following dates: Friday, September 12 Friday, October 17 Thursday or Friday, November 13 or 14 b. Joanie has spoken with a possible acapella group called the Afternotes, all alumni from UNH. She will let the group know we have a strong interest in bringing them to Laconia and will reach out in 2025 when availability of dates for the Putnam fund are confirmed.
