DRAFT MINUTES JULY 2, 2014
LICENSING: PRESENT: J. Rogato, Chair; K. Erickson, LFD; A. Lessard, LPD
Licensing Review: Taxi Driver for Steven’s Taxi- Anthony Defosses 6/27/14-2/28/15
Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve. He asked A. Lessard if there were any issues with the driver and was told no, this is a renewal of
his license. A. Lessard made the second and all voted in favor.
J. Rogato took the next item out of order and moved down to the Motorcycle Week vendors. These were applications that were received
during Bike Week and did not get approved at the last Licensing meeting.
MCWK Vendor Applications:

Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve with the second by A. Lessard. All voted in favor of approval.
Licensing Regular:
RAF- Easter Seals NH, INC draw date 7/19/14 prizes: Sea Doo, Canoe, kayak and BBQ Grill
Proceeds to benefit the Easter Seals programs and services throughout the state
RAF- NH Lakes Association draw date 8/3/14 prize: Kayak
Proceeds to benefit the education programs for the NH Lakes Association
RAF- Nor’Easter Softball Club draw date: 7/27/14 prizes: Red Sox Tickets, NH Fisher Cats, and Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Certificate
Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve all 3 of the above raffles. A. Lessard seconded and all voted in favor of approval.
OLS- Sheri Minor, 135 Academy St is having a 4th of July party on 7/5/14 with a DJ time requested: 12pm-10pm AL
Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve the application. He asked K. Walsh if the loudspeaker falls within the time parameters and she said
yes. A. Lessard said they must meet reasonable levels. K. Walsh said she will make a note on the permit.
Al Lessard seconded and all voted in favor of approval.
IV- Caren’s Ice Cream 45 Endicott St N selling Ice cream cones, shakes, root beer floats, sundaes, slush and waffle cones for the months of
July and August with special approval from the City Council to extend the vending hours from 8pm on 7/18, 8/1, 8/15 and 8/31 until 10pm
during fireworks displays and on the evening of July 3rd thru 1:00 am on July 4th during the fireworks display
IV- Brad’s Fried Dough 45 Endicott St N selling fried dough, fried oreos, drinks and fresh squeezed lemonade for the months of July and
August with special approval from the City Council to extend the vending hours from 8pm on 7/18, 8/1, 8/15 and 8/31 until 10pm during
fireworks displays and on the evening of July 3rd thru 1:00 am on July 4th during the fireworks display
Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve the two vendors. A. Lessard made the second and all voted in favor of approval.
Fireworks- Laconia Parks & Recreation is hosting fireworks for 4th of July at Opechee Park display time: 10:00pm
Documents have already been submitted to the State
Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve the fireworks display with the second by A. Lessard. All voted in favor.
4th of July Vendors:
Jason Stockbridge selling sausage, burgers, hot dogs, fries, fried dough and shaved steak
Laconia Multicultural Market Festival Group selling water & glow sticks
Chesley’s Food Concessions selling fries, lemonade and drinks

Cormier’s Sugar house selling maple cotton candy, maple candy and maple fudge ice cream
Carolyn’s Creamee selling hard & soft ice cream, shakes, sundaes, slush, soda, floats, fried dough, funnel cakes, corn dogs, hot dogs and
French fries
Caren’s Ice Cream selling Fried Dough and Ice Cream
Brad’s Sausage selling Sausage, Steak & Cheese, Pizza & Smoothies
Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve all of the vendors for the 4th of July, with the second by A. Lessard. All voted in favor.
J. Rogato asked about licenses for 4th of July as was told the City doesn’t need a permit. K. Erickson said there are 2 bands playing and
asked if they still require loudspeaker permits? K., Walsh said she will do those. K. Erickson said the Kiwanas is sponsoring the event, and
asked if they need a license?
MCWK Refund Request-
Catamount Specialties of VT is requesting a refund for their vending license fee of $550.00, a family member passed away and there
wasn’t enough coverage to cover both the vending location and the business in Vermont.
J. Rogato explained the above and said that they are requesting a refund. K. Walsh said they did not come due to a death in their family.
Motion: K. Erickson moved to refund and A. Lessard seconded. K. Erickson asked if we are sure about the death as people can make
anything up and decide they just don’t want to come. K. Walsh said they did not show up at all.
All voted in favor of approving the request for the refund.

Licensing Old Business: None
Licensing Minutes: K. Erickson moved to approve the minutes of the Licensing meeting of June 11. J. Rogato seconded and all voted in
favor of approval.
Licensing Adjournment: K. Erickson moved to adjourn, with the second by A. Lessard. All voted in favor and the Licensing portion of
the meeting adjourned at 12:15.
SERC New Business: There were no SERC applications. No SERC minutes were approved.
