BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES October 20, 2015 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross and Norm Childress. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the October 13, 2015 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT Long Center Renovation and Improvements President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. Main Street Streetscape Phase I & II President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Contract with Norfolk Southern for Flagging Services-Pedestrian Ramp Project Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract with Norfolk Southern for Flagging Services for the Pedestrian Ramp Project. Norfolk Southern is requesting this agreement due to the railroad tracks being in the ‘fall-zone’ of a crane that will be in use during the construction for the Big Four Depot/Pedestrian Ramp Projects. The agreement is in the amount of $21,907.00. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Economic Development Change Order #1-Renovations to Long Center Roofing President Henriott stated that this item will be tabled due to questions regarding insurance coverage. Mr. Childress moved to table this item. Mrs. Ross seconded. Tabled. Board of Public Works and Safety October 20, 2015 Page 2 Purchasing Declaration of Worthless Property-Fleet Maintenance Rick Morrissey, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for Fleet Maintenance for a 2002 Lodal Evo Combo 1L9AS6AB22K006594. Mr. Morrissey stated that condition is beyond repair and will be scrapped at Oscar Winski. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,458,359.99. Mrs. Murray asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
