BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES December 1, 2015 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross, Norm Childress and Ron Shriner. Absent: Gary Henriott Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. Mrs. Murray called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the November 24, 2015 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. OLD BUSINESS Contract- Long Center Renovation and Improvements (Commercial Air) Mrs. Murray stated that this item will remain tabled. Notice to Proceed- Long Center Renovation and Improvements (Commercial Air) Mrs. Murray stated that this item will remain tabled. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Change Order #1-US 52 & CR 450E Intersection Improvements Bob Foley, Engineering, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #1 for the US 52 & CR 450E Intersection Improvements with the decrease in the amount of $15,775.90 which brings the revised contract to $623,680.25. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $4,743,828.46. Mr. Childress asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. MISCELLLANEOUS Special Event Request-Dickens of a Christmas Board of Public Works and Safety December 1, 2015 Page 2 Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Dickens of a Christmas to be held on December 5, 2015 from 9:00am-7:00pm Downtown Lafayette. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Christmas Parade Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Christmas Parade to be held on December 6, 2015 from 8:00am-5:00pm Downtown Lafayette. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Taxi Cab Permits Chief Flannelly presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Taxi Cab Permit for Wallace I. Smith III. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
