BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 31, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Ron Shriner: Absent: Dawn Ross and Gary Henriott Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. Mrs. Murray called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the January 24, 2017 regular meeting. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS-none CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $1,079,154.37. Mrs. Murray asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Taxi Cab Permits Police Chief Patrick Flannelly presented to the Board and recommended approval of Taxi Cab Permits for Michael Lee, Sampson Young, Saroyan Hester and April Hester. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Dan Crowell, Street Commissioner, announced that a few of the Street Department employees were out working then they came across a citizen who had a fire in his yard along with in the building. The Street Department employees put out the fire, called the Fire Department and got all of the other people out of the building to safety. Mr. Crowell stated that these employees will be formally recognized at the next City Council meeting in February.
