BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 16, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Ross moved for approval of the minutes from the January 9, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Acceptance for Maintenance-Raineybrook Bay, Part 2, Phase 2 Mr. Foley stated that the Bond did not get submitted in time therefore recommended tabling this item. Mr. Shriner moved to table this item. Mr. Childress seconded. Tabled. Purchasing Landscape Maintenance 2018 Contract Renewal-Brightview Landscapes Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of the Landscape Maintenance 2018 Contract Renewal with Brightview Landscapes. Mr. Payne stated that Brightview has offered to extend the 2017 contract and to perform the same services at the same cost during 2018. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $563,190.18. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety January 16, 2018 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Banner Request-Lafayette Catholic School System President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Banner Request for the Lafayette Catholic School System to hang a banner across Main Street from January 23-February 6, 2018. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Taxi Cab Permits Deputy Chief, Brad Bishop, presented to the Board and recommended approval of taxi cab permits for the following people: Shaun P. Wilburn, Danny J. Roberts, Tyler Jenkins, Jeffrey A. Foltz, April R. Hester, Mark G. Linback and Floyd G. Idle. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
