BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 22, 2019 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton and Ron Shriner. Absent: Norm Childress Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the January 15, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. BID OPENING Lafayette Fire Station #5 HVAC Project (re-bid) This being the time set to open bids for the Lafayette Fire Station #5 HVAC Project (re-bid), and the following bids were received and opened: T.L. Kincaid Contracting Lafayette, Indiana Base Bid: $312,000.00 Alternate #1: ($5,700.00) deduction Alternate #2: ($139,000.00) deduction Rencon Services, Inc. Pendleton, Indiana Base Bid: $294,956.00 Alternate #1: $11,622.00 Alternate #2: ($151,888.00) deduction Mrs. Murray moved to take the bids under advisement for further review. Mr. Shriner seconded. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT North Street Reconstruction, Phase II President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. Board of Public Works and Safety January 22, 2019 Page 2 NEW BUSINESS Engineering Permission to Advertise-Haggerty Lane Resurfacing & Widening Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the Haggerty Lane Resurfacing & Widening. The publications are set to run on January 25 and February 1, 2019 with a bid opening on February 19, 2019. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Fire Department Supplemental Agreement #6-Fire Contract for Unincorporated Area of Fairfield Township Fire Chief, Richard Doyle, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Supplemental Agreement #6 for the Fire Contract for the Unincorporated Area of Fairfield Township for 2019. The annual agreement is in the amount of $100,000.00. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Worthless Property-Sanitation Department Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Sanitation Department that includes a 2005 Lodal EVO T8-C275 Recycling Truck Vin #1L9AS6AB35K006866 City #2593. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Declaration of Worthless Property-Water Works Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Water Works Department that includes a HP Design Jet Large Format Printer model#T1100PS Serial Number MY73E0C041. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $8,159,866.64. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Taxi Cab Permits Police Chief, Patrick Flannelly, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Taxi cab permits for the following people: Mark Linback, Jeffrey Davis, Michael York, Michael Timmons, Marvin Sparger, Christine Young and Elizabeth Laswell. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed.
