BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 25, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray and Amy Moulton. Absent: Norm Childress and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the January 18, 2022 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. BID OPENING 40 & 8 Lift Station and Force Main Replacement Project This being the time set to open bids for the 40 & 8 Lift Station and Force Main Replacement Project and the following bids were received and opened: Bowen Engineering Indianapolis, Indiana Base Bid: $1,467,200.00 Alternate #1: $2,684,250.00 Atlas Excavating West Lafayette, Indiana Base Bid: $1,868,802.00 Alternate #1: $2,060,816.00 Mrs. Moulton moved to take the bids under advisement for further review. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT CAT Park All-Inclusive Sports Field President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. S. 30th Street Drainage Project, Phase II President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. OLD BUSINESS Special Event Request-Jeff High School Grand March (Tabled 1/11/2022) Mrs. Murray moved to remove this item from the Table. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Removed. Angelique Johns, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Jeff High School Grand March to be held on April 23, 2022 from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Main Street directly in front of the Lafayette Theater. Good neighbor letters have been hand delivered and no businesses have stated their opposition to the closure. President Henriott restated that the closure will be for both lanes on Main Street in front of the Lafayette Theater. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Change Order #2-9th and Kossuth Streets Profile Modifications/Drainage Improvements Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #2- 9th and Kossuth Streets Profile Modifications/Drainage Improvements with Milestone Contractors. The change order is an increase in the amount of $10,798.26 which brings the revised contract amount to $665,649.55. The change order includes the reconciliation of quantities. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $777,942.06. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
