BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
MINUTES
May 31, 2022
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray and Amy Moulton.
Absent: Ron Shriner and Norm Childress
Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present.
President Henriott called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the May 24, 2022 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded.
Passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Purchasing
Declaration of Surplus Property-Information Technology
Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus
Property for Information Technology that includes 6 monitors, 7 PC’s and 3 All-in-One PC’s. Mr. Payne stated
that these items will be sold on GovDeals.com or recycled. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray
seconded. Passed.
CLAIMS
Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $900,837.84. President Henriott
asked a question on Page 15 regarding Meter Change Out Program. Mr. Diehl stated that this invoice is for 576
meters that were purchased for the change out program. Steve Moore, Water Works Superintendent, stated that
they are on the final stage of the meter change out program with only about 800 meters left to change out. Mr.
Moore stated that they have changed out nearly 39,000 meters over the past 10 years. Mrs. Moulton moved for
approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
MISCELLANEOUS
Special Event Request Amendment #1-LTHC Motorcycle Ride
Jennifer Shook, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Special Event
Request Amendment #1 for the LTHC Motorcycle Ride. The original approved request was for May 21, 2022.
Due to weather the event was postponed to August 13, 2022 with the same time and place for the event. Mrs.
Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.

Special Event Request-Taste of Tippecanoe
Ann Fields Monical, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for the Taste of Tippecanoe to be held on June 18, 2022 from 6:00pm-12:00midnight located in
Downtown Lafayette. The closure is to start at 4:00am on June 18, 2022. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs.
Murray seconded. Passed.
Special Event Request-Boys and Girls Club Open House
Barry Richard, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for Boys and Girls Club Open House Celebrating 50 Years to be held on June 28, 2022 from 11:00am-
2:00pm located on the 1500 block of N. 10th Street between Fulton and Ball Streets. Mrs. Moulton moved for
approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
Special Event Request-Prayer March
Pastor William Fowler, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special
Event Request for a Prayer March to be held on June 4, 2022 from 9:00am-2:00pm. The march will start at Riehle
Plaza and continue on Ferry Street, N. 11th Street and finish up on Union Street at Transitional Housing. The walk
will be on the sidewalk only. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
Special Event Request-Bistro 501 Lobster Bake
Mary Buckley, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for Bistro 501 Lobster Bake to be held on June 7, 2022 from 5:30pm-9:30pm located on 5th Street
between Main and Columbia Streets. The tentative rain date will be June 14, 2022. Mrs. Moulton moved for
approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
