BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES September 6, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Ron Shriner, Amy Moulton and Norm Childress. Absent: Cindy Murray Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the August 30, 2022 regular meeting. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Lafayette Renew Recommendation for Award-7th Street Storm Sewer Project Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for the 7th Street Storm Sewer Project with Bowen Engineering in the amount of $504,200.00. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Contract with BFS for 4th Street Sewer Alignment Project Mr. Talley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract with BFS for the 4th Street Sewer Alignment Project. The contract includes work that involves rerouting sewers that currently lie in properties planned for development. The approximate location of the subject properties is 521 S. 4th Street between the 4th Street intersections with Kossuth Street and Fountain Street. The contract is in a not-to-exceed amount of $71,000.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Fleet Maintenance Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for Fleet Maintenance that includes a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu 4-Door Sedan VIN#1G1ZB5E10BF336112 City#11-208. Mr. Payne stated that the vehicle is declared surplus due to an inoperable engine. The vehicle will be sold for salvage. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety September 6, 2022 Page 2 Declaration of Surplus Property-Parks Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Parks Department that includes a Kyocera FS-1035MFP Copier-Serial#NQX1800375, A Kyocera FS-1135MFP Copier- Serial#NR43939549, AND A HP M451dn MFP-Serial#CNDF241736. Mr. Payne stated that the devices will be traded in on a new copier purchase. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed, CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $776,365.31. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress asked Mr. Talley for a CSO Plan Update. Mr. Talley stated that the City has contracts with Greely & Hansen for Phase 2-C which is being finished up now and Phase 2-D which is currently under study and is a couple of years from construction. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
