BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES September 27, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton and Norm Childress. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the September 20, 2022 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Certificate of Completion-2021-1 Community Crossings Street Resurface President Henriott stated that this item will be tabled. Mrs. Moulton moved to table this item. Mr. Childress seconded. Tabled. Lafayette Renew Significant Industrial User Permit-Arconic, LLC Josh Terry, Renew, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Significant Industrial User Permit for Arconic, LLC. Mr. Terry stated that this is a 4-year permit renewal through the Pretreatment Program as a Significant Industrial User. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Purchasing Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Purchasing Department that includes 2 iPhones and 2 iPads. The items have been replaced with newer equipment and will be sold. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $4,961,572.03. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety September 27, 2022 Page 2 MISCELLANOUS Special Event Request-Home for Dogs Charlie Shook, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Home for Dogs Fundraiser to be held on October 1, 2022 from 8:00am-1:00pm located on N. 5th Street from Ferry Street to North Street. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Fall Hydrant Flushing Schedule Steve Moore, Water Works Superintendent, announced the Fall Hydrant Flushing Schedule beginning Sunday, October 2, 2022. This will occur for two weeks, Sunday through Thursday from 10:00pm-6:00am. Should any customer experience issues regarding this flushing please contact the Water Works Plant or the Utility Billing Office. Taxi Cab Permit Police Chief, Scott Galloway, presented to the Board and recommended denial of a taxi cab permit for James E. Fligor. Mr. Childress moved to deny this permit. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Denied.
