BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES October 18, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Ron Shriner, Amy Moulton and Norm Childress Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the October 11, 2022 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Lafayette Renew Supplemental Agreement #1-4th Street Sewer Realignment Project Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Supplemental Agreement #1 for the 4th Street Sewer Realignment Project with Butler, Fairman and Seufert, Inc. The supplement includes topographic survey, water main design and CAD drawing deliveries. The supplement is a not-to-exceed in the amount of $35,500.00 which brings the revised agreement amount to $106,400.00. The additional compensation will be paid for out of Water Works funds. Discussion ensued. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Purchasing Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property that includes 10 iPhones. Mr. Payne stated that the phones have been replaced with newer equipment and will be sold. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $622,218.69. Mr. Childress asked a question on Page 21 regarding the Lafayette Well Head Protection invoice with Wessler Engineering. Steve Moore, Water Works Superintendent, stated that these invoices are for the 5-year protection update. Discussion ensued. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety October 18, 2022 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Banner Request-BAGL President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Banner Request for Builders Association of Greater Lafayette (BAGL) to be hung on Columbia Street from December 6-20, 2022. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Taxi Cab Permit Scott Galloway, Police Chief, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Taxi Cab Permit for Mark Bell. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
