MINUTES
May 30, 2023
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Ron Shriner, and Norm
Childress. Absent: Amy Moulton
Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present.
President Henriott called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the May 23, 2023 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded.
Passed.
BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT
2023-1 Edgelea Addition CCMG Project
President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement.
QUOTES UNDER ADVISEMENT
Guaranteed Maximum Price Proposal-WWTP Solar Field
President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement.
NEW BUSINESS
There was none.
CLAIMS
Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $432,496.07. Mr. Childress
asked a question on Pages 1-3 regarding the Lafayette Water and Wastewater Invoices. Mr. Diehl stated those are
individual department water charges. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
MISCELLANEOUS
Special Event Request-Lafayette Aviator’s Street Festival
David Krakower, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for the Lafayette Aviator’s Street Festival to be held on July 1, 2023 from 2:00pm-6:00pm on the street
adjacent to Loeb Stadium, on Wallace Avenue between Main Street and 24th Street as well as on 24th Street
between Wallace Avenue and Brice Street. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mayor Roswarski announced that today is Norm Childress’s last meeting as a member of the Board of Works.
Mayor Roswarski presented Mr. Childress with a handmade/hand painted vase with the colors of the City of
Lafayette Flag. The vase was made by a local artist with only a few vases were made and only given to recipients
is very special occasions. Mayor Roswarski thanked Mr. Childress for his countless years on the Board with his
devotion, commitment, and wise counsel.
Mr. Childress thanked the Mayor, the Board of Works members and the Department Heads for their guidance,
leadership, commitment and progressiveness to the City of Lafayette and the community.
