MINUTES
October 1, 2024
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton, Eric Rody
and Ron Shriner.
Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present.
President Henriott called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the September 24, 2024 regular meeting. Mr. Rody
seconded. Passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Purchasing
Permission to Advertise-2025 Landscape Maintenance
Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to
Advertise for the 2025 Landscape Maintenance Project. The publications are set to run on October 11 and 18,
2024 with the bid opening set for October 29, 2024. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed.
Declaration of Surplus Property-Police Department
Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Fleet
Maintenance that includes:

Mr. Payne stated that the item listed will be traded-in or scrapped. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs.
Moulton seconded. Passed.

Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Police
Department that includes:

Mr. Payne stated that the items listed will be sold on GovDeals.com. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mr. Shriner
seconded. Passed.
CLAIMS
Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $4,929,773.74. President
Henriott asked a question on Page 23 regarding the Greater Lafayette Commerce Community invoice for Year 2
Supporting Our Families Project Match. Mr. Diehl stated that this is a 3-year commitment from the city to provide
a match of the Ready Grant. This is disbursement 2 of 3. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton
seconded. Passed.
MISCELLANEOUS
Special Event Request-Art Museum Costume Ball Fundraiser
Olivia Frazer, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for the Art Museum Costume Ball Fundraiser to be held on October 19, 2024 from 7:00pm-1:00am
located on N. 8th Street between Columbia and South Streets. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Shriner
seconded. Passed.
Special Event Request-Monster Mash on the Wabash
President Henriott stated that this item will be tabled. Mr. Shriner moved to table this item. Mrs. Murray
seconded. Tabled.
Special Event Request-Pray for Our Nation (Prayer Gathering)
Ken Johnson, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for Pray for Our Nation Prayer Gathering to be held on October 26, 2024 from 11:00am-1:00pm located
at Riehle Plaza and the Big 4 Depot. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed.
