MINUTES
July 8, 2025
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton, Eric Rody and Ron Shriner.
Absent: Gary Henriott
Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was present.
Mrs. Murray called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the June 24, 2025 regular meeting. Mr. Rody seconded.
Passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Water Works
Recommendation for Award- Roof Replacement for Columbian Park Booster Station, Chemical Feed Building
and the Shipping & Receiving Building
Steve Moore, Water Works Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a
Recommendation for Award for the Roof Replacement for Columbian Park Booster Station, Chemical Feed
Building and the Shipping & Receiving Building. The apparent low bidder is Quality Roofing Services, Inc and
the bid was determined to be complete with a base bid in the amount of $214,700.00. Mr. Shriner moved for
approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed.
Contract- Roof Replacement for Columbian Park Booster Station, Chemical Feed Building and the Shipping &
Receiving Building
Mr. Moore presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for the Roof Replacement for
Columbian Park Booster Station, Chemical Feed Building and the Shipping & Receiving Building with Quality
Roofing Services, Inc in the amount of $214,700.00. Mr. Moore stated that the project should take around 60 days
to complete. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
Notice to Proceed- Roof Replacement for Columbian Park Booster Station, Chemical Feed Building and the
Shipping & Receiving Building
Mr. Moore presented to the Board and recommended to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to
Proceed for the Roof Replacement for Columbian Park Booster Station, Chemical Feed Building and the Shipping
& Receiving Building. This notice allows the project to start July 8, 2025. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs.
Moulton seconded. Passed.

Lafayette Renew
Certificate of Final Completion-9th Street Culvert Repair Project
Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Final
Completion for the 9th Street Culvert Repair Project with Inliner Solutions. Mr. Talley stated that all work was
completed by June 13, 2025. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed.
Amendment #1-for Task Order #7-Prairie Oaks Permanent Bypass Project with Wessler Engineering
Mr. Talley presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Amendment #1 for Task Order #7 for Prairie
Oaks Permanent Bypass Project with Wessler Engineering. Mr. Talley stated that this amendment is for the
construction administration with Wessler Engineering. This amendment is an increase in the amount of
$30,000.00 which brings the revised contract amount to $60,000.00. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Rody
seconded. Passed.
CLAIMS
Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $8,034,156.74. Mrs. Murray
asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Rody
seconded. Passed.
MISCELLANEOUS
Banner Request-Union Club Hotel (Purdue University)
Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Banner Request for the Union Club Hotel
(Purdue University) to be hung across Columbia Street from July 15-July 29, 2025. Mrs. Moulton moved for
approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed.
Mrs. Murray stated that the Banner Application will be updated/modified starting at the beginning of 2026.
