AREA BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS OF TIPPECANOE COUNTY LAFAYETTE DIVISION October 16, 2017 The City of Lafayette Board of Zoning Appeals met in regular session on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 4:07 PM. Members present were: Jackson Began, David Lahr, and Kathy Davis. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Bogan. Ms. Davis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as distributed; second by Mr. Lahr. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. NEW BUSINESS: 2017-26 KIEFFER & CO, INC / CHRISTINA M BRUNO - Variance to allow 166.1 SF sign area for a tenant in an integrated center instead of the allowed 40 SF. Property located at 200 S GREASY LN. Ms. Davis moved to hear and approve the petition, second by Mr. Lahr. Christina Bmno presented the petition. Ms. Bruno stated that she is here on behalf of Kieffer and Company. They are sign construction company contracted by Ulta to install a sign for their new location in the Pavilions shopping center. This is an integrated center, the sign is limited to 40 square feet. This is not adequate. The sign proposed is 166.1 square feet which is roughiy in accordance with the other signs in the center. Ms. Bruno also pointed out that the trademark includes a swoop, the actual area of the letters is approximately 100 square feet. The way the calculation is done, we need to request 166.1 square feet. Mr. Lahr asked if the sign wil! be !it. Ms. Bruno responded that it would be backlit. The Board voted by ballot: 3 yes 0 no. PETITION GRANTED The next meeting of the Lafayette Board of Zoning Appeals wi!i be on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 4:00 PM. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 4:13 PM Secretary
