Call to Order
Noting a quorum, President Sean Lutes called the meeting ofthe Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission to order at
7:00 pm.
Approval of the Minutes
Ann Amato moved to recommend approval of the June 26, 2023 (no July meeting) meeting minutes. Shawna Mccully
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
New Business
Public Relations and Education Committee: No report
District Committee:
413 N. 11th St.
Sean Lutes presented a petition from Shawna Mccully for designation of 413 N 11th St as the new Local
Jefferson/413 N 11th St Historic District. The Italianate structure was built around 1880. It is rated as Contributing
and Historic Preservation Officer, Dann Keiser, stated at the District Committee meeting that it appears to have its
original windows and is within the Old Jefferson National Historic District. He believes it warrants local designation.
John Burns made a motion to recommend approval of the petition, Julie Ginn seconded. Shawna McCully abstained.
The motion passed unanimously.
221 Perrin Ave.
Shawna McCully presented a petition from John Strong for designation of 221 Perrin Ave as the new Local Perrin
South/221 Perrin Ave. Historic District. The Italianate structure was built around 1880. It is rated as Contributing and
Historic Preservation Officer, Dann Keiser, stated at the District Committee meeting that it is within the Perrin
National district and worthy of local designation. Alec Williams made a motion to recommend approval of the
petition, Shawna McCully seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
1006 Hartford St.
Shawna Mccully presented a petition from Noemi C. Ybarra for designation of 1006 Hartford St. as the new Local
Lincoln/1006 Hartford St. Historic District. The bungalow style structure was built around 1920. It is rated as
Contributing and Historic Preservation Officer, Dann Keiser, stated at the District Committee meeting that it appears
to have original windows and molded concrete block foundation and is worthy of local designation. Kevin Klinker
made a motion to recommend approval of the petition, Ann Amato seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
1200 Tippecanoe St.
Shawna Mccully presented a petition from Nick Ahrens for designation of 1200 Tippecanoe St. as the new Local
Lincoln/1200 Tippecanoe St. Historic District. The 20 th Century Gothic Revival style church was built in 1929. It is
rated as Outstanding and Historic Preservation Officer stated at the District Committee meeting that it is within the
Park Mary National Historic District and worthy of local designation. Shawna McCully made a motion to recommend
approval of the petition, Julie Ginn seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

There being no further business to bring before the Commission, Kevin Klinker moved to adjourn the meeting. John
Burns seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, and the meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission
was adjourned at 7:06 pm.
