Review Complaints since last meeting – Investigation Report – Travon Austin v. Subway/Bauer Inc. – Case # 06182012 Documents are on file – Based on thorough investigation by Moffitt and Atherton-Childress Claim based on sexual orientation and disability basis – employment. Terminated on June 13, 2012, in their determination based on breaking the rules of dealing with customers. Includes interviews of Travon Austin, Thea Strand- case manager / Laura Roe- manager. Recommendation - The investigators made written recommendations for all three parties in the case. Motion to accept the report – Studt / Second – Harmon : VOTE – 7 – 1 abstention Notices will be sent to all of the parties of the findings and the suggested recommendations. Old Business Ordinance Sub-Committee – Atherton-Childress/ Studt - No report Bryan requested that a timeline be put together. Jacque – will resend into definitions from West Lafayette/ Bloomington/ Indy to get a head start on drafting the sections needed. 7. New Business: City emails – non-personal email accounts – to conduct city business/ personal phones Is it possible to get secure access? - Office phone was suggested by Aimee. Email – through the city account? The staff will look into this. Training – Moffitt /Atherton-Childress – will put together guidelines and suggestions to doing an effective investigation and the reporting process. They will work with staff and veteran investigators. They will produce a draft by early October meeting. Sub-Committee: Outreach and Promotions Palacios/ Atherton-Childress/ Jones / Moffitt - No Report Festivals: OUTfest – Aug 18 Global Fest – Sep 1 Hanna Fest – Sep 3 Latino Fest – Sep 8 – IVY Tech – Jamille will make contacts Bryan – will follow up with the other commissions and get back about volunteer slots.
