CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES
August 14, 2025
It is noted that this meeting was held in person in the Emergency Operations Center at City
Hall and virtually via Zoom.
Councilmembers present: Tracy Furutani, Deputy Mayor; Larry Goldman, Vice Chair; Paula
Goode, Jon Lebo, Ashton McCartney, Semra Riddle
Councilmembers absent: Ellyn Saunders
Staff present: Lindsey Vaughn, Finance Director; Rebecca Dickinson, Public Works Director;
Mark Hofman, Community Development Director; Matt McLean, City Clerk
Others present: Wendy Weiker, Republic Services

CALL TO ORDER
Deputy Mayor Furutani called the August 14, 2025, City Council work session meeting to order
at 6:00 p.m.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA
Cmbr. McCartney moved to adopt the agenda as presented. Cmbr. Riddle seconded.
The motion to adopt the agenda as presented carried unanimously.
Given the absence of the presenter, Deputy Mayor Furutani called for a ten-minute recess at
6:02 p.m. The meeting was reconvened at 6:12 p.m.
COUNCIL DISCUSSION TOPICS
Republic Services Update
Ms. Weiker with Republic Services responded to Council questions in the wake of the Republic
Services labor strike.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Deputy Mayor Furutani adjourned the meeting at 6:38 p.m.
