CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING

f City of Lake Forest Park CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION October 29, 2025 MINUTES Commission members present: Chair John Olson, Vice Chair Kim Anderson, Cmr. Silje Sodal Staff present: Secretary/Chief Examiner Shannon Moore, Police Chief Mike Harden Chair Olson called the meeting to order at approximately 8:04am. The meeting took place via Zoom. Approve Minutes Cmr. Sodal noted a correction to the spelling of her name. Vice Chair Anderson made a motion to approve the July 11, 2025, meeting minutes with this correction. Chair Olson seconded the motion. Meeting minutes were unanimously approved. Reports and Communications None. Old Business A. Entry and Lateral Level Civil Service List - Removal of Names Secretary Moore noted lateral candidate Neal Beeman should also be added to the removal letter as he did not pass the background check process. Chair Olson made a motion to modify the letter to include Neal Beeman. Vice Chair Anderson seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. A motion was then made and seconded to approve the updated removal letter. Motion carried unanimously. New Business A. Certify Entry and Lateral Level Police Office Eligibility Lists The Commission discussed the desire for format continuity of the application materials provided to the group for review. Following discussion, Chair Olson made a motion to approve the Entry and Lateral Level Police Officer eligibility list with the removal of lateral candidate Neal Beeman following the “Old Business” motion to remove Candidate Beeman. Vice Chair Anderson seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. October 29, 2025 1 Minutes Approved: 11.20.25 Announcements/Schedule of Events None. Adjournment A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at approximately 8:22am.
