Mayor Nexsen called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

7.1 ID 17-1139 Announce Vacancies on Lake Havasu City Boards, Committees, and
Commissions
City Clerk Assistant Sacia Graber announced the current vacancies on various Lake
Havasu City Boards, Committees, and Commissions.
7.2 ID 17-1138 City Manager's Report
City Manager Charlie Cassens reported on the following:
• February 2017 Sales Tax Updates.
• Code Enforcement Updates. There are currently 46 open cases.
• Building Permit Updates.
• City offices will be closed Friday, April 14, 2017, in observance of Good Friday.
• Special Events Update:
o The 2017 U.S. Freestyle Championship will take place at Rotary Community Parks
and Thompson Bay with the Extreme Trick portion being held in the Bridgewater
Channel on Saturday, April 29th, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
o Lake Havasu Leadership is sponsoring “A Night at the Drive In” Event on Saturday,
April 29th, at the SARA Park Rodeo Grounds from 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
8. PUBLIC HEARINGS
8.1 ID 17-1118 Adopt Ordinance No. 17-1173 Repealing City Code Section 11.06.080,
Trails Advisory Committee
City Attorney Kelly Garry advised that this ordinance was introduced at the last meeting
and is being brought to the council tonight for final adoption to repeal the Trails Advisory
Committee in place of an informal Trails Advisory Subcommittee of the Parks and
Recreation Advisory Board.

Mayor Nexsen opened the public hearing. There being no comments, he closed the public
hearing.
Councilmember Lane moved to adopt Ordinance No. 17-1173 repealing City Code
Section 11.06.080, Trails Advisory Committee, seconded by Councilmember McCoy,
and carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6 - Mayor Nexsen, Councilmember McCoy, Vice Mayor Coke,
Councilmember Lin, Councilmember Lane and Councilmember
Groat
Absent: 1 - Councilmember Sheehy

Lake Havasu City endeavors to ensure the accessibility of all of its programs, facilities, and services to all

Action as a result of public comment on an item not on the agenda will be limited to directing staff to study the
matter or rescheduling the matter to a later date.
The City Council may vote to hold an executive session for the purpose of obtaining legal advice from the City’s
attorney on any matter listed on the agenda under A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(3).

We will now have an open call to the public for citizens wishing to address the council on issues
within the jurisdiction of the city. Your comments must be limited to five (5) minutes or less. If you
wish to address an item already on tonight’s agenda, you should wait until that item is announced for a
public hearing. At the conclusion of the open call to the public, individual members of the council
may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the council, may ask staff to review a
matter or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda. However, members of the council cannot
discuss or take legal action on matters not already on the agenda.
