Canvassing Board Meeting Minutes April 9, 2019 (APPROVED) 4/9/2019 - Minutes 1. Roll Call CANVASSING BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioner Flora "Tonya" Stewart; Deputy Mayor Robin Gibson; Commissioner Terrye Howell, Jacquie Hawkins, alternate; Members Absent: Pete Perez, Alternate CITY REPRESENTATIVES PRESENT: Jennifer Nanek, City Clerk; Zailet Suri, Deputy City Clerk; Keroma Mills, Executive Assistant The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Robin Gibson. 2. Minutes - April 4, 2019 The minutes of the Canvassing Board meeting on April 4, 2019 were reviewed. Commissioner Howell made a motion to approve the minutes of April 2, 2019. Commissioner Stewart seconded the motion. By voice vote: All "YES"; None "NO" 3. Manual Audit Of The Seat 1 Mayor Race Jennifer Nanek, City Clerk, reviewed the process of the manual tally. She shared copies of the results that the tally will be compared to, Chair Robin Gibson opened the boxes from the Supervisor of Elections containing ballots both precinct ballots and Vote-by-Mail Ballots from precincts 527 and 526. The ballots were reviewed, separated and counted. As there were very distinct differences there were recounts. For Precinct 526 there were 422 for Eugene Fultz and 447 for Bob Wood. For Precinct 527 there were 469 for Fultz and 370 for Bob Wood. Totals were 891 for Fultz and 817 for Wood. There were 15 undervotes and 1 overvote. These tallys were considered sufficient by consensus of the Canvassing board.
