PIPERTON INDUSTRIAL BOARD MEETING SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF JULY 18, 2017 PRESENT: Members: Chairman Mark Jenkins, Jack Murphy, Joel Townsend and Wes Hicks Others in attendance: Mayor Henry Coats and City Recorder Bev Holloway Rich Miller was not in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Mark Jenkins. Review and ratify (Resolution No. 17-196) Memorandum of Mayor Henry Coats dated July 13, 2017, pertaining to 2-year PILOT of Pyramex Safety Products project: Mr. Jenkins stated this special called meeting is to review and ratify the memorandum of the Mayor regarding the proposed 2 year pilot for Pyramex Safety Products. Mayor Coats stated this is the second pilot we have done, Pyramex Safety Products currently has about 55 employees and this will be considered their world headquarters. Pyramex will bring in their pad printing, (which is currently done off-site) to the new location and that will add about 20 more employees. The City of Piperton was awarded $630,000.00 that will go through the Fayette County IDB and will receive draws off that as we build the sewer system. There is another grant of $200,000.00 from the Delta Regional Authority that the City is in the running for along with two other candidates and the winner will be announced at the end of this month. The sewer system has been run from Ballard Road to Rossville and Piperton Preserve Phase 2 will be the first subdivision that will start pumping sewage to Rossville and as we build a customer base we will evidently turn on the wastewater plant which does not run efficiently until you have about 70,000 to 75,000 gallons a day, we have an agreement with Rossville right now for 80,000 gallons a day and they have more capacity if we need more so in a year we can ask more if needed, and by going to Rossville this gives us an opportunity to build. We have an easement and an area just north of Living Hope Church that they set aside for a pump station, we will run pipe from the pump station on Ballard down to this pump station and then gravity back to Keough and there may be a couple of other business that would connect to that same sewer line. We will need to set aside money for depreciation. Pyramex has already started clearing land. This is a two year pilot and a good catch. It is up to this IDB to approve the pilot. Motion to ratify (Resolution No. 17-196) Memorandum of Mayor Henry Coats dated July 13, 2017: Joel Townsend moved to approve, seconded by Wes Hicks. The motion received all affirmative votes.
