1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Meeting was called to order at 7:31 PM.
Present were Acting Village President Tolomei, Trustees Bondi, Callahan, Coleman,
Gyarmaty, McAvoy, and Taylor. Also present were Village Administrator Dixon,
Village Attorney Burkland, Public Works Director/Engineer Heyden, Finance Director
Martynowicz, Fire Chief Mastandrea, Park Director Perkins, and Police Chief Urry.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
S.N.A.P. participant Tony Green led the Board room in the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. PRESIDENT’S REPORT
A. Certificate of Appreciation to Michael Smith
Six year old Michael Smith was the first to smell and locate a fire in his home on
the morning of February 11th. Thanks to his quick reaction, everyone escaped
their home without injury. The Lake Zurich Fire Department presented Michael
with an “Award of Excellence” and a home made wooden fire engine as a token
of his bravery and foresight in handling this dangerous situation.
B. Proclamation Special Needs Athletes Day, April 20, 2007
Spring Green. Parent coordinator of the Special Needs Athletic Program
(S.N.A.P.), announced t-shirts are being sold to help fund this program. Order
forms are available at designated areas around Lake Zurich. A proclamation
recognizing Special Needs Athletes Day to be observed on April 20, 2007, was
read by Village Clerk Palmblad.
C. Proclamation, Telecommunicators Week, April 8-14, 2007
A proclamation recognizing Telecommunicator Week from April 8th through April
14, 2007 was read by Village Clerk Palmblad.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT

5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Regular Village Board meeting March 19, 2007
MOTION was made by Trustee McAvoy, seconded by Trustee Coleman, to
approve the Regular Village Board minutes dated March 19, 2007, as presented.

B. Special Village Board meeting March 20, 2007
MOTION was made by Trustee Callahan, seconded by Trustee McAvoy, to
approve the Special Village Board minutes dated March 20, 2007, as presented.
Voice vote, all in favor.

6. CONSENT AGENDA
A. Warrant dated April 2, 2007. The Finance Committee recommends approval
and the Board of Trustees approves the Warrant dated April 2, 2007 in the
amount of $294,477.00 which includes the following items over 5% of the total:
1. Maneval Construction $59,234.17 20.12%
2. Bill Jacobs Chevrolet $33,759.00 11.46%
3. IDOT $18,686.97 6.35%
4. Bell Fuels $16,849.30 5.72%
5. North American Salt $15,699.36 5.33%
B. Ordinance lowering speed limit on North Old Rand Road. The Public Works
Committee recommends approval and the Board of Trustees approves AN
ORDINANCE CHANGING THE SPEED LIMIT ALONG NORTH OLD RAND
ROAD, LAKE ZURICH, ILLINOIS. (Assign ORD. #2007-04-486)
C. American Legion Memorial Day Parade, May 28, 2007. The Public Safety
Committee recommends approval and the Board of Trustees approves A
Resolution to IDOT seeking permission to close Main Street and the Route 22
Bypass for the American Legion Memorial Day parade on May 28, 2007. (Assign
RES. #2007-04-02A)
D. Lions Club Alpine Days Parade, July 22, 2007. The Public Safety Committee
recommends approval and the Board of Trustees approves A Resolution to IDOT
seeking permission to close Main Street and the Route 22 Bypass for the Lions
Club Alpine Days parade on July 22, 2007. (Assign RES. #2007)
E. Gas can exchange program. The Public Works Committee recommends
approval and the Board of Trustees approves funding of a Gas Can Exchange
program as part of its Clean Air program.
F. Alpine Runners Races, September 9, 2007. The Public Works Committee
recommends approval and the Board of Trustees approves the request from the
Alpine Runners to use Paulus Park on September 9, 2007.
G. Chamber Taste of the Towns, August 26, 2007. The Public Works Committee
recommends approval and the Board of Trustees approves the request from the
Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce for use of Paulus Park for the Taste of
the Towns event on August 26, 2007.
MOTION was made by Trustee Bondi, seconded by Trustee McAvoy, to approve
the Consent Agenda as read.

8. ATTORNEY’S REPORT
No report.
9. COMMITTEE AND TRUSTEE REPORTS
Trustee McAvoy announced that IDOT is nearing completion of Route 22 and
promises all landscaping, etc. will be finished soon, weather permitting, on all
aspects west of Buesching Road. Trustee McAvoy thanked everyone for their
patience.
Trustee Gyarmaty announced, for the Public Works Department, a workshop for
homeowners associations to be held by the Lake County Stormwater Management
Commission titled “Maintenance Responsibility for Subdivision Drainage Systems”
on Saturday, April 14th from 9 am to 12 pm in North Chicago. Any resident
interested in attending who lives near a detention pond or wetland area is welcome.
More details can be found on both the Village of Lake Zurich and Lake County
websites.
10. OTHER BUSINESS
A. Courtesy review referral. Metropawlis, 143 E. Main Street, request for dog
resort.
No additional information was provided. This item will now move forward to the
appropriate Boards and Committees without recommendation from the Board.
11. EXECUTIVE SESSION for the purpose of discussing matters related to personnel
and pending litigation.
MOTION was made by Trustee Bondi, seconded by Trustee Coleman, to adjourn to
Executive Session for the purpose of discussing matters related to personnel and
pending litigation and to not reconvene to open session.
AYES: 6 Trustees Bondi, Callahan, Coleman, Gyarmaty, McAvoy, and Taylor
