CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Thomas M. Poynton at 7.00pm.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Thomas Poynton, Trustee Dan Bobrowski, Trustee Mary Beth
Euker, Trustee William Riley, Trustee Marc Spacone, Trustee Roger Sugrue, Trustee
Greg Weider. Also in attendancei Village Manager Ray Keller, Village Atty. Scott
Uhler, Finance Dir. Amy Sparkowski, Management Services Dir. Michael Duebner,
Fire Chief Dave Pilgard, Police Chief Steve Husak, Dir. Of Community Development

Dir. Doug Gibso, Asst. to the Village Manager Kyle Kordell. Guesti former Asst.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
PUBLIC COMIVIENT
William Howarth, 328 Denberry Drive, addressed the Board on an Agenda
Item, courtesy review for a the proposal of a carwash, held at a previous
meeting.
Dir. Of Community Development Sarosh Saher responded that the petitioner
had Withdrawn the proposal.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT / COIVIMUNITY UPDATE
A. Proclamation Honoring Assistant Village Manager Roy Witherow upon his
Retirement from the Village of Lake Zurich after 12 years of Public Service.
Mayor Poynton read proclamations from the Village of Lake Zurich and State
Rep. Nabeela Syed and thanked Mr. Witherow for his service.
B. Oath of OfEce for Firenghter / Paramedic: Chief Dave Pilgard presented the
two candidates, Justin Kenyon and Joseph Bartmann, and read their
biographies. Police/Fire Commissioner Mike Hilt administered the Oath of
Office. FF/PM Kenyon was pinned his fiancé and son and FF/PM Bartmann
was pinned by his wife.

A. Approval of Minutes from the Village Board Meeting of July 17 ,2023
B Approval of Semi-Monthly Warrant Register Dated August 7, 2023 Totaling
$1,857,986.91

C. Resolution Approving Public Release of Executive Session Meeting Minutes of
the Lake Zurich Village Board of Trustees RES. #2023'07‘073
Summary: The Village is required to conduct periodic reviews of Executive ri-x
Session minutes for the purpose of determining whether any minutes may be
released for public viewing. The proposed Resolution identihes the Executive
Session minutes that the Board has provided consensus on to either keep
confidential or release.
D, Ordinance Granting Relief &om the Maximum Fence Height Requirements in
the Corner Side Yard at 615 South Grethe Court 0RD. #2023'08-519
Summary: The owners of 612 South Grethe Court are seeking a zoning
variation to allow a 2-foot increase above the maximum 3-foot high fence
requirement for &ont or corner side yards. The Planning and Zoning
Commission held a public hearing on July 20, 2023 to consider the application
and voted 5-0 in favor of recommending approval of the variation.
E. Ordinance Granting a Variation for a Swimming Pool at 679 Beechwood Drive
ORD. #2023-08-520
Summary: The owners of 679 Beechwood Drive are seeking a zoning variation
from the required 23-foot setback from the rear lot line for swimming pools,
allowing the pool to encroach 6-feet. At its meeting on July 20, 2023, the
Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the variation
incorporating the conditions for approval provided by staff in its report.
Recommended Action: A motion was made by Mayor Poynton, seconded
by Trustee Sugrue, to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.

NEW BUSINESS
None at this time.
TRUSTEE REPORTS
Trustee Bobrowski thanked Fire Chief Pilgard for his presentation at a recent meeting
for the Braemar subdivision.
Trustee Spacone reminded residents about driving carefully as school starts soon.
VILLAGE STAFF REPORTS
Park and Rec. Dir. Bonnie Caputo invited residents to participate in feedback for a
proposed OSLAD grant application. Residents can participate before the Park and
Rec. meeting and at the Farmer’s Market.
Village Manager Ray Keller congratulated Roy Witherow on his recent retirement and
thanked him for his service to the Village.
10. ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Trustee Euker, seconded by Trustee
Riley.
