Meeting held at the Lake Zurich Village Hall, 70 East Main Street, Lake Zurich, IL 60047
Present: T. Vandergrift, J. Schultz, John Ridgeway, T. Goodyear, Tom Poynton and Bill Benson.
Absent: Mike Brown
Visitor(s): Patrick M. Finlon – Chief of Police
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M.
New Business
• Jim Schultz was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee by Mayor Tolomei. Chief Finlon
congratulated Mr. Schultz on his appointment as Chairman.
• Bill Benson was sworn in as the newest member of the Committee. He provided the Committee with his
background as a Village resident and his professional experience. Mr. Benson is a Deputy Chief for the
Wheeling Police Department. He has been a resident of the Village of Lake Zurich for 20 years. He has
lived in 3 different homes in the 20 years. Members of the Committee and Chief Finlon provided Mr.
Benson with an overview of the Committee and its function.
• The Committee was told of a complaint regarding the volume of traffic on June Terrace from Rte 12 to
Rte 22. The resident who brought forth the complaint was told to contact Deputy Chief Vandergrift
regarding the matter and how to get it on the agenda for CPAC. To date she has not made contact.
• Deputy Chief Vandergrift informed the Committee that this would be his last meeting. He will be
replaced by Commander David Bradstreet. This is a staff assignment change due to promotions within
the Police Department.
Old Business
The Committee was updated on the closure of Main Street for Alpinefest. The Village Board agreed to
allow the Lions Club to close a portion of Main street for the festival.
Motion to adjourn The meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM.
