APPROVED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION 505 Telser Road, Lake Zurich February 2, 2010 7:00 PM 1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Scott Garrison at 7 PM Present were Chairman Garrison, Members Tony Harper, Mary Kozub, and Shawn Walkington. 2. PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Kozub motioned to accept the November meeting with changes. Commissioner Garrison seconded. Voice vote, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED. Commissioner Garrison motioned to accept the minutes from the December meeting. Commissioner Kozub seconded. Voice vote, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED. 4. ARBOR DAY - Arbor Day will be April 24 at Paulus Park. The Commission will contact Seth Paine School on planting a tree for Arbor Day at the school either on the 21st or 22nd. The Tree Commission will plan one tree for Arbor Day at the Park and the second tree as a memorial for Al Froehde. The purchase of a plaque will also be placed at the memorial tree site. 5. APPOINTMENT OF NEW MEMBER – Commissioner Garrison printed the application the was used for the Park and Recreation Board Member vacancy. He is going to put together a similar one to be used as the application for the Tree Commission member. Commissioner Kozub is writing a Tree Commission member description to be reviewed at the March meeting. 6. NEW BUSINESS - Commissioner Garrison spoke about the article on Oak Trees that appeared in the Newsline. The Commission members discussed other articles to be placed in the Newsline as well. Commissioner Garrison has been trying to contact Steve Macygin to get articles placed on the Village Web Page. PLAN REVIEW – Lions Club – Plan Approved 7 ADJOURNMENT – MOTION was made by Commissioner Garrison, seconded by Commissioner Harper, to adjourn the meeting. Voice vote, AYES have it.
