APPROVED VILLAGE OF LAKE ZURICH TREE COMMISSION March 7, 2023 6:30 PM CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Garrison at 6:30 PM ROLL CALL-Present were Kurt Hansen, Kevin Scheiwiller, Tony Harper, Mary Kozub, Scott Garrison and Village Liaison Shawn Walkington. PUBLIC COMMENT- None APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Motion made to accept minutes from February 7‘“ by Commissioner Hansen, second by Commissioner Harper. All were in favor COMMISSIONERS REPORTSChairman Garrison thanked Commissioner Harper for the Dripline article. Chairman Garrison said he has not been able to talk to Public Works Director Brown about project at Sarah Adams School. Tree Commission would still like to see more trees planted. Chairman Garrison asked Commissioner Kozub if she attended Park and Rec board meeting. Commissioner Kozub has attended and spoke about Oak trees in the parks. Commissioner Harper talked with person from the DNR who sent him links on trees and global warming. He is going to pass them on to Tree Commission members for discussion at the next meeting. Chairman Garrison talked about Workshop for tree planting. ARBOR DAY- Liaison Walkington said Arbor Day will be April 29m at Paulus Park. Event starts at 9am and tree will be planted around 9: 1 5. Chairman Garrison will speak during the tree planting and Liaison Walkington will get him number of Oak trees in Paulus and Breezewald parks. Oak tree seedlings will be given away. ADJOURNMENT ~ Motion was made by Commissioner Hansen, seconded by Commissioner Kozub to adjoum the meeting. Voice votes, AYES have it. MOTION CARRIED Meeting was adjoumed at 7: 1 5 PM.
