Lakewood Youth Council October 16, 2023 Meeting Minutes COUNCIL Lakewood City Hall Council Chambers 6000 Main St SW Lakewood WA 98499. CALL TO ORDER Angel and Chase called the meeting to order at 4:50 p.m. ATTENDANCE Members Present: Alexandra, Alexis, Alvin, Angel, Ariana, Ava, Bentley, Bridget, Chase, Irie, Jacqueline, Jhoselyn, Kailyn, Katie, Kimberly, Launa, Lincoln, Lucy, Lui, Nevaeh, Ruffaro, Shilo andDylan Members Absent DJ, Kasia, Maddisyn, Marcos, Reinida, Shyniece, Violet CITY COUNCIL LIAISON: Patti Belle and Trestin Lauricella STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Shannon Bennett GUESTS PRESENT: None MINUTES October 16*^ minutes were unanimously approved. PUBLIC COMMENT NEW BUSINESS Members had discussion to assess the successes and shortcomings of the Truck and Tractor Day event on 10/14/2023. Members came up with a location, a few tentative dates, and strategies for promoting the 2024 Youth Summit. The final selection of the official location and date is yet to be decided. Shannon Bennett established a secretary role within the Lakewood City Youth Council. Following a discussion, Ruffaro Guzha, Kaitlyn Miller, and Ariana Melo were elected to this position, and a system of rotational duties was implemented. Dylan Pant announced an opportunity to participate in an interview for National Youth Confidence Day.
