ITT Committee Meeting Minutes 12/27/17 Present: Jon Hale, committee chair; Tom Stoughton, committee member; Randy Groff, committee member; Mayor David Scheffler Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mr. Hale. Discussion centered around identifying priorities for the new ITT committee to focus on at the beginning of the 2018-2019 term. Items identified include: 1) Getting a project plan for 2018 from the IT department, complete with a timeline and costs. 2) Status of the federally mandated Narrowbanding project that was begun several years ago. Was it ever fully completed; are we fully compliant? 3) Status of the upgrading police and fire radios (as related to Narrowbanding?) 4) Assessment of exactly where Lancaster is on the “technology curve.” Are we where we need to be; how do we compare with other cities? How much do we need to spend to get there, where do we spend it and when? 5) Status of the fiber optics upgrades/installation(s) begun several years ago. Is this complete; where is the majority of the fiber, and where does it need to be yet? 6) Development of a Sort Program (possibly as a cooperative venture between the IT & Economic Development), as proposed several years ago by Mr. Groff to Ed Campbell. Additional Business: Mayor Scheffler has been in discussion with Andrew Lambert concerning budgeting/spending in the Clerk of Courts IT Department (currently separate from the overall city IT Department). The 236 Fund for the department is currently approximately $49,500.00 over budget. Suggestion is to explore eliminating the Clerk of Courts IT department and fold it into the city IT department. Everyone agreed this also merits attention as the new ITT Committee is seated in 2018. Adjournment: Mr. Stoughton moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Groff. Meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Jon Hale
