The Board of Health meetings are open to the public. Requests from person with disabilities must be
made to the Community Development Department 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Meeting convened at 6:15 PM
Members present: Jean Allais, Becce Ford (Vice-Chair), David Milam (Chair), Aaron Taff and Beth
Young-Jones
Members absent: None
There was a quorum present at all times.
Staff Present: Jerry Hankin, Randy Hunt, Mary Murrieta and Kathleen Wickersham
City Council Liaison: Vicki Henry (present)
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MINUTES
2-A. AGENDA: Approval of the Agenda for the August 20, 2015 meeting.
MOTION BY YOUNG-JONES, second by Taff, to approve the Agenda of the August 20, 2015
Board of Health meeting as written.

3. BOARD OF HEALTH AND STAFF: REPORTS AND COMMENTS
The new City Council Liaison Vicki Henry was introduced to the Board.

5-A. Review of Inspections
i. June 12, 2015 – July 9, 2015
ii. July 10, 2015 – August 13, 2015
The Board reviewed and discussed the establishments on the monthly inspection report. Murrieta
answered questions and provided additional information on various establishments.
5-B. Letter of Consideration – Environmental Health Specialist Position
Murrieta informed the Board that she had given her resignation effective August 28, 2015 to
move with her family to Lincoln, Nebraska. She thanked the Board for their support of her as the
Environmental Health Specialist.

The Board thanked Murrieta for her work and involvement with the Board, local establishments
and the citizens of Laramie.
Hunt also thanked Murrieta for her work with the Community Development Department.
Hunt went on to explain the background for the request of a letter from the Board for the
Environmental Health Specialist Position. The Board of Health agreed that the Environmental
Health Specialist position needs to be filled.
MOTION BY TAFF, second by Young-Jones, to approve the letter to the City Manager,
requesting the City fill the soon-to-be vacated Environmental Health Specialist position as soon
as possible and have the Board of Health Chair sign the letter.

Motion carried.
Hankin stated that while the Environmental Health Specialist position is vacant, routine
paperwork will be handled by staff. The City will rely on the State’s expertise to do inspections on
complaint bases until the position is filled.
Murrieta stated that Cheyenne (Laramie County) will be a good resource for the new
Environmental Health Specialist.
OLD BUSINESS
5-C. Ramada Inn
Murrieta conducted a spot inspection on the Ramada Inn’s pool, and stated all looked good. The
spa was still having an issue with the chemicals. She informed the Board that she would return
to the Ramada on Monday, August 24th to inspect the spa and the kitchen again. She was
unsure as to what still needed to be completed on the Fire Marshall’s list of items.
5-D. Bylaws
Once the Board has approved the updated Bylaws (Rules and Regulations of City of Laramie
Board of Health (Revised January 2003) they will be placed on the City Council’s Consent
Agenda.
The City Attorney is willing to take the Ordinances to City Council to have changes made and be
approved.
5-E. Farmers Market
The Downtown Farmers Market has more vendors this year. All vendors have been licensed.
There have been a few Wyoming Food Freedom Act vendors at the Downtown Farmers Market.
5-F. Jubilee Days
All vendors and carnival associates were licensed and there were no issues this year.
