0 0 LARAMIE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES August 11, 2005 Special Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jodi Guerin at 7:09 p.m. Council members present Jodi Guerin, Dave O'Malley, Seth Carson, Jeanne Armintrout, Joe Shumway, Klaus Hanson and Joe Hageman. Absent Bryan Shuster and Wendy Perkins. Staff present Dick Waggener, Interim City Manager; Sue Morris-Jones, City Clerk; Peggy Trent, Assistant City Attorney. City Clerk read the Notice of Special Meeting: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LARAMIE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, AUGUST 11, 2005, AT 7:00 P.M., IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL, 406 IVINSON STREET, FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: 1. RECESS TO EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING PERSONNEL; 2. CONSIDERATION OF CITY MANAGER SERVICES. ON MOTION BY HAGEMAN, seconded by Perkins, that Council recess to Executive Session regarding personnel. Roll call vote showed O'Malley, Carson, Shumway, Hanson, Armintrout, Hageman and Guerin voting aye; Nays, none; Absent, Shuster and Perkins. MOTION CARRIED. Council recessed 7:10 p.m. Council reconvened 8:31 p.m. ON MOTION BY HANSON, seconded by Carson, that Council authorize the Mayor and Vice Mayor to conduct appropriate background checks on the candidates interviewed during our recent invitation of candidates to Laramie. Roll call vote showed O'Malley, Carson, Shumway, Hanson, Armintrout, Hageman and Guerin voting aye; Nays, none; Absent, Shuster and Perkins. MOTION CARRIED.
