Laramie Advisory Commission on Disabilities Zoom 5:00-6:00 pm July 1st, 2021 Meeting Minutes Members Present: Emmalee Moore, Marla Puett- Sandberg, Katie Harmon, Mel Cody, Michelle Blakely, Michaela Rank, JoCarol Ropp Absent Members: Jerrica Becken, Sam Burkett Council Liaison: Sharon Cumbie Staff Liaison: Jasmine Parten Katie called meeting to order at 5:02 pm. I. ROLE CALL II. APPROVAL OF MAY MINUTES A. Mel made motion to accept. B. JoCarol seconded. C. Carried on voice votes D. APPROVAL OF JUNE MINUTES E. Katie made motion to accept. F. JoCarol seconded. G. Carried on voice votes. III. NEW BUSINESS a. Michaela would like to add Disability Awareness Month to the upcoming agenda. Katie would like to contact the Public Library to have a display of books set out for March. JoCarol will reach out to them and let the commission know what they say at the next meeting. Mel asked if they would be interested in doing a blog post through the library. JoCarol said she would inquire about that as well. Mel suggested the commission reach out to CO Library. Katie said she would reach out to them as well as the School District. IV. OLD BUSINESS A. Had two walkers and one wheelchair at Pride Fest. Next year should have two wheelchairs. Sharon suggested that next year the commission appoint someone to organize the event. The members that were able to help were Sharon, Michaela Marla, and Mel. B. Everyone who participated in the obstacle course enjoyed it. Sharon said that she felt it was a very fitting event for the commission to participate in. One woman who was in a wheelchair should others how to navigate the course. A video was taken and will be posted to the Pride Fest  YouTube page. The flyer was great to hand out to participants. The commission asked that the Pride Fest flyer be posted to the LACD Facebook page. C. Michaela asked if meetings would continue with Zoom. Sharon said yes until after September. Jasmine said she would notify the commission when they were allowed to meet in person. Katie asked if it could still be a mix of in person and Zoom. V. Next meeting will be a special meeting on September 2nd, 2021. VI. ADJOURNMENT at 5:24 pm.
