City Council Special Meeting Monday, June 12, 2023 – 5:30 PM 27400 Southfield Road, Lathrup Village, Michigan 48076 Meeting Minutes 1. Call to Order by Mayor Garrett 5:32 pm 2. Roll Call Present: Mayor Garrett, Mayor Pro Tem Kantor, Councilmember Jennings, Councilmember Kenez, Councilmember Miller Staff Present: City Administrator Susan Montenegro, City Treasurer Pamela Bratschi, City Attorney Scott Baker, City Clerk Kelda London 3. Pledge of Allegiance 4. Approval of Agenda Mayor Pro Tem Kantor moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion seconded by Councilmember Kenez. Yes: Kantor, Kenez, Miller, Garrett No: None Motion carried. 5. Public Comments for Items on the Agenda (Speakers are limited to 3 minutes) None 6. Action Requests - For Consideration / Approval A. Accept the Resignation of the City Administrator Councilmember Kenez moved to accept the resignation of the City Administrator. Motion seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Kantor. Resurfacing Glenwood Administrator Montenegro explained that there is an opportunity to add Glenwood to the 2023 paving program at an estimated cost of $356,348. Mayor Pro Tem Kantor moved to authorize the City Administrator to enter into an agreement with Giffels Webster and Allied Paving to add Glenwood to the 2023 paving program. Motion seconded by Councilmember Miller. Yes: Miller, Garrett, Kantor, Jennings, Kenez No: None Motion carried. 7. Public Comment Resident – The process of road restoration Julie Craigo – Glenwood resurfacing Lauren Beras – Administrator resignation Nancy Griffin – Road paving 8. Mayor and Council Comments Mayor Garrett announced the City-Wide Garage Sale the weekend of June 23rd – 25th Mayor Pro Tem Kantor requested the water back billing project to start by July 7 th. Councilmember Jennings reminded residents that the Juneteenth event is Saturday, June 17th, from 11 am – 4 pm. Councilmember Kenez encouraged residents to read the article about the upcoming garden tour and invited everyone to the garden tour and the garage sale Saturday, June 24 th. Councilmember Miller, there are legitimate complaints regarding the restoration of the road construction. She also requested an update on the MML guarantee for the previous search for a City Administrator. 9. Adjourn Mayor Pro Tem moved to adjourn the meeting, motion seconded by Councilmember Jennings.
