City Council Study Session Meeting Minutes Monday, June 13, 2022, at 6:00 PM 27400 Southfield Road, Lathrup Village, Michigan 48076 1. Call to Order by Mayor Garrett at 6:02 p.m. 2. Discussion Items A. Fiscal Year 22/23 Budget discussion Treasurer, Pam Bratschi, went over the proposed budget line by line highlighting items that could be reduce/removed to lower the proposed deficit amount. There was some discussion on the new Administrator salary and how it effects the proposed budget. 3. Public Comments (speakers are limited to 3 minutes) Laura Kuntz – Water loss issues and budget savings 4. Mayor and Council Comments Mayor Garrett mentioned the Juneteenth Celebration Saturday June 18th, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Councilmember Miller stated that she has received questions about why Mayor Garrett is listed as the special guest for the Juneteenth Celebration. Councilmember Miller requested a breakdown of the trip to the tea room and revenue collected. Mayor Pro Tem Kantor – In response to previous questions and comments; Yes, the city does pay for the first 3 feet of the driveway aprons associated with road paving so that the aprons and new roads match in height. The billing for the sidewalk increased as a result of year one billing not going out because the work didn’t get finished due to weather late in the season last year. Mayor Pro Tem Kantor also requested an update on the Lathrup Blvd. and 11 Mile traffic control and the progress of the Ethics Ordinance.
