Downtown Development Authority Meeting Friday, November 15, 2024 Meeting Minutes 12:00 PM: Call to Order Roll Call Present: Brian Ford, Mike Greene, Danielle Huey, Bruce Kantor, Pam Shermeyer, Dan Sugg Absent: Patricia Felton, Charlotte Jones, Fred Prime. 12:01 PM: Motion to Excuse Absences made by City Administrator Greene; Motion Passes Unanimously. Motion to Approve Minutes of September 2024 Meeting made by Pam Shermeyer; Motions Passes Unanimously. 12:02 PM: Motion to Approve Agenda made by Bruce Kantor; Motion Passes Unanimously after brief discussion for clarity. Motion to Approve Consent Agenda made by Dan Sugg. Motion Passes. 12:03 PM: Public Comment Section: No Comment from Public currently. 12:04 PM: Old Business DDA Director Colson asks the Board to review a Request for Qualification (RFQ) regarding vacant lot (27907 California Drive) that is under DDA jurisdiction, so that the DDA can begin accepting bids on said lot. DDA Director Colson and City Administrator Greene both answer questions from the Board regarding an RFQ, its processes and how it affects the lot and property acquisition. 12:12 PM: Motion Made by Bruce Kantor to approve city’s RFQ request. Motion passed unanimously.  Holiday Lighting: Due to lack of Quorum at two prior meetings, DDA was unable to vote on contractors for Holiday lights to be put up around City Hall. DDA Director Colson took the contracts to City Council to request payment for the contracts so lighting could begin, as the deadline for payment was approaching. Council Approved the request, under the agreement that the DDA Board will approve reimbursement to the City. 12:14 PM: Motion Made by Dan Sugg to Approve Reimbursement to the tune of $10,600. Motion Passed Unanimously. 12:15 PM: DDA Director Monthly Report 12:21 PM: Return to Public Comment (Members of Public Arrived with Questions; Board Obliged their Requests) The owner of 44 Burrito inquires about signage and Drive Signs; also requested clarity on a Patio Permit she applied for previously. DDA Director Colson agreed to set up a meeting to discuss her concerns and provide the clarity she requested. Danielle Huey states the desire to review potential updates to signage ordinances, knowing from experience how inefficient the current ordinances are. A small discussion is had between the Board and Director Colson and City Administrator Greene. 12:26 PM: Motion to Adjourn made by Bruce Kantor. The Motion passed unanimously.
