Call to Order Meeting called or order by Chair Piotrowski Pledge of Allegiance All present joined in the Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call Commissioners Present: Mark Piotrowski, Chair Jason Hammond, Vice Chair Les Stansbery, Secretary Terrence Hicks Wilbert Fobbs III Absent: Robin Dillard-Russaw Mayor Pro Tem Bruce Kantor This meeting is being held remotely. All Commissioners who were present announced they are in Lathrup Village, Michigan, Oakland County. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Stansbery. Yes: Hammond, Stansbery, Fobbs, Hicks, Piotrowski No: None Motion carried. Approval of Agenda Motion by Secretary Stansbery to approved the agenda, motion was seconded by Chair Piotrowski. Yes: Piotrowski, Hammond, Stansbery, Fobbs, Hicks No: None Motion carried Approval of Meeting Minutes of July 20, 2021 Motion by Vice Chair Hammond to approve the meeting minutes of July 20, 2021 with one correction, motion was seconded by Secretary Stansbery. Yes: Hicks, Piotrowski, Hammond, Stansbery, Fobbs No: None Motion carried. Public Comment New Business Capital Improvement Plan Committee discussion Community and Economic Development Manager Susie Stec gave a brief overview and mentioned that with the resignation of commissioner Thompson there is a vacancy on the committee. Commissioner Hicks will consider the appointment if he is unavailable Commissioner Stansbery will fill the vacancy. Comprehensive Plan Implementation Priority discussion Eric Pietsch of Giffels Webster was tasked with reviewing the comprehensive plan and it implementation. Eric explained the results of the survey. Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station Ordinance discussion There was an extensive discussion about the use and need for EV charging stations. For the purpose of preparing an ordinance that will be proactive and ahead of the need as it pertains to the parking needs for local business. The ordinance should have standards like appearance and safety, and making sure there is still adequate parking. The committee also discussed reorganizing the ordinance so the at the language is clear. General Communication Community and Economic Development Manager, Susie Stec gave and update on all of the Fall activities of the DDA. City Administrator, Dr. Sheryl Theroit reported that Lathrup Village is the recipient of the Michigan Enhancement Grant thanks to the support of Senator Moss and Representative Bolden. The funds will be used for some infrastructure improvements. Adjourn Motion by Vice Chair Hammond and seconded by Secretary Stansbery to adjourn the meeting.
